I advise EVERYONE to stay away from Health Insurance Innovations. I switched to their health insurance on May 1. On May 3, I had an emergency and had to go to the hospital. I submitted my insurance information and trusted this company to at least discount my services, as promised. At the end of May, Health Insurance Innovations called me with an upgrade to a better policy with their company. I told the salesperson who called that I would like the upgrade, but I wanted to make sure it would not affect my claim earlier that month. No, no, my claim would definitely be covered; the upgrade won’t affect it at all. I received a statement from Health Insurance Innovations in early June for my May 3 hospital statement, and everything looked fine. I even called them at that time to confirm. Yes, I would be receiving my discounts, the bill was pending, everything was fine. Fast forward to October. I suddenly receive a bill FOR THE FULL AMOUNT, no discounts applied, from my hospital visit and another statement from Health Insurance Innovations telling me they would not be applying ANY benefits of my coverage to my hospital bill. Why? I wasn’t covered during that time. Even after assuring me my claim would be covered, even after I received an official statement confirming that the claim had been received and the discounts applied, even after I called in and confirmed everything was fine, Health Insurance Innovations STILL decided, months later, to violate their own refund policy (which states that coverage CAN’T be cancelled if there’s a filed claim during the first 30 days) and cancel my insurance for that first month because I did not keep it longer than 30 days. After speaking to what seemed like every employee in the company, who told me it was my fault for not catching their mistake sooner, I was finally transferred to one Mareeta W. Customer Service Specialist Health Benefits Center, who after completely misunderstanding the situation, chose to ignore my repeated attempts to contact her. Health Insurance Innovations DOES NOT care about good customer service, nor do they care about the customers they claim to want to help. Take my advice. Stay as FAR AWAY from this company as possible.

Thought I signed up for health insurance I was told by the agent named George that dr.s visits would be $30 perscriptions $10 so I signed up they recorded me saying I understood and agreed to their terms went to the doctor twice. 6 months later I received a bill for over 700.00 because it’s short term insurance and NOTHING is covered as they lied to me I went to the Better business Bureau website and found that so many people were complaining that an alert was posted and a name of a women Alicia Heaney is provided with a phone # she doesn’t return your call!!! I did get through to a Theresa Mills who supposedly is a manager and pretends to be shocked and concerned then calls back and says she has a recoding of me agreeing to sign up and since I already canceled services she simply cannot help me. Natural no recording of the man telling all about the wonderful coverage was mentioned. I paid over 300.00 a month for insurance that didn’t exist to get a 700.00 bill that I still have to pay…please stay away from these scam artists

Beware – anyone that signs up for short term health insurance with Health Insurance Innovations, billing name, Health Options One, company name added on a life (accidental death) policy when I signed up for short term health insuarnce. After reading the policy, weeks after making my first payment before they snet me the policy, I cancelled immediately requested in writting a full refund only to find out 8 months later that the life insurance portion did not cancell and they have been deducting $46.95 a month out of my account since January. At the time I needed health care I did not sign up for, need or want life insurance. I want my money back, they should not be allowed to charge me for something I did not want and cancelled. Shame on me for not paying closer attention, but shame on them for taking advantage of consumers.

Health Insurance Innovations Misrepresentation of insurance’s acceptance by doctors and pharmacies Nationwide

I purchase health insurance from this company after being assured by the company’s representative that the insurance would be taken by my doctor and my son’s doctor and their prescription coverage would be taken at my pharmacy. Therefore, I purchased a family policy for my son, husband and myself. Unfortunately, the coverage is not taken by any of our doctors nor is it taken at our pharmacy or any other local pharmacy.

I was mislead and accepted their offer because I wanted my family to be covered. My husband had recently lost his job, and we were unable to afford the COBRA payment on our former policy, an extremely good one with a major provider. While I am generally very cautious when doing business, I was desperate to make sure my family was secure and must have let that become apparent in my conversation with the customer service representative.

One major thing should have gotten my attention: I was discouraged from asking questions. After a long telephone conversation with one CSR, I was told that before I could be covered, I needed to be transfered to another representative who would read and record a long legal disclaimer whose terms I needed to accept. She informed me that I should reserve any questions I had until the end because if I did ask questions about the terms I was accepting, the 2nd CSR would have to start reading the disclaimer again. The terms I was recorded agreeing to were different from what the first CSR had told me, so following the extended legal litany, I asked questions. I never felt satisfied with his answers, but after over an hour on the telephone, I just wanted to end the conversation.

The afore-mentioned business practice is indicative of a rip-off. In my estimation, that is all I got for my money from Health Insurance Innovations.

Health Insurance Innovations scammed, overcharged, misuse of credit card, illegal charges Florida Internet

My husband lost his job of 15 years and we were under pressure to get insurance so we were not in trouble. I got online with the Colorado Insurance Exchange and several insurance sites poppsed up. I had just entered our phone number when we received a call from George, supposedly a representative for Health Innovations Insurance out of Florida.

He explained the plan he was signing us up for was a complete plan. There were no copays and it included Dental, Vision and Prescription. He said the cost was 266.61/month. We were under pressure to find something so we signed up.

I gave him my credit card number and he said they only charged 266.61 to the card. I then had to listen to a bunch of disclaimers, which he informed me that 95% of the disclaimers did not pertian to us.

My husband received his insurance cards in the mail and we instantly had questions, because the prescription card we received was not an insurance card, but rather a prescription discount card.

My husband went to an office locally and got signed up for real insurance. He showed the insurance card to the person helping him and he was informed the insurance we had signed up for was a scam.

I then went online to view my credit card statement and found that over $460.00 had been charged by this company. When I called them to ask why, they informed me at that time that there was a $155.00 sign up fee. I was not told about this fee during my conversation with George. I’ve called ‘George’ several times since then and I never get him on the phone. I have since turned this company in to the Insurance commission and I have canceled my credit card so they no longer have it. I’m trying to get the money back they stole from me and this is ongoing right now.

September 2014 I conatcted Health Insurance Innovations and spoke with “Larry, extention 1314” on several occasions for long periods of times about what i needed in health insurance. He assured me the policy he was referring to was a major medical stacked policy which would cover all major medical, portions of hospital stays, dianostic test, prescriptions, $50.00 emergency room, etc etc. I felt sure about the policy and purchased it in September 2014.

After receiving my policy I had several concerns. This didn’t appear to be a major medical policy so I contacted Health Insurance Innovations asked to speak to “Larry, extention 1314” and was told ( on several occasions) I couldn’t speak to him that the person on the line could help me.They assured me that the policy was major medical and where one company stopped paying another would pick up (stacked policy). I took their word for it and comtinued to pay the premiums, as they were very affordable compared to other insurance companies. BEWARE!! This should have been the RED FLAG!

In January 2015 I went to the emergency room with stomach problems, treated and released. Later receiving a bill for $18,000.00. Because Health Insurance Innovations sold me a policy that did not have a $50.00 co-pay. After all my calling and questions, REALLY!! I cannot afford to pay this bill. Because of someone elses greeed they have put me in the poor house. If I need medical attention in the future I won’t be able to go to the local hospital beacuse of this debt.

No way would I ever use this company for any reason!!!! Beware of Health Insurance Innovations/MSGA- Med-Sense Guaranteed Association.

She told me if I had any questions just give her a call, well like someone else’s remark said, she can’t be reached. Internet

There was a lot of fast talking and I was totally confused and told the other lady twice I could not understand what she was talking about because she was going so fast. She then asked me if I wanted to talk back with Diane and I said yes, as I was going to cancel it all. Well someone got on the line calling themself a Benifit Specialist and still got me to agree to whatever they were saying while I was crying hard. I was so upset by the time I got off the phone I do not have any idea what he was getting.

I was informed yesterday that $323.41 for the health insurance which is not health insurance and does not meet requirements, $25 for life insurance, and $50 for Accidental death or something to that effect. Showing he had no beneficiary it would go to estate which we wouldn’t have agreed to anyway and they have an incorrect social security number for them. Also, there is this Freedome Elite10 that he is getting that is going to cost us $30 a month, then Extra Care Package for $25 a month. We cannot afford any of this and have already talked to someone else at Health.gov and are getting a legitimate policy (I hope)

Health Insurance Innovations HBC Kept charging my bank account after cancelling policy. Rude customer service when speaking to supervisor. Hanging up phone numerous times if you complain about issue Unknown Internet .

This company will try every delay method possible to keep you from cancelling policy such as requiring dates you cancelled in e-mails or text youve sent to hanging up on you when you call. They keep presenting a charge to your bank for payment even after contacting them to cancel. Will not provide refunds if you can keep them on the phone long enough to explain why. Rude customer service as they will hang up on you if any critisism is shown or provided. The supervisor Carol is very proficient at doing this. A complete fraud as far as I am concerned. Presented as health insurance when enrolling but told after verification it is just a discount program. This company should be investigated at very least. Premiums are not only expensive but not what you are charged or what you pay for. Good luck if you need to cancel. They also require who your provider is. this is none of their business as far as I am concerned. Do not enroll with this company they are a complete farce.

I bought a short term medical insurance plan through Health Insurance Innovations on 3-29-12 because I was out of work and thought that this would be a good fill-in until I found work. Sadly on April 2, 2012, I had a problem swallowing and immediately went to my local Doctor. He put me on some meds, thinking it was irritation.

Two weeks later, I couldn’t swallow water. I called and set up an EGD at local hospital. After three scopes, it was found out that I had Esophageal Cancer….at 54. This insurer was denying all my claims initially saying they were under investigation for pre-existing condition.

I called them several times, and finally they started to make payments on claims. I paid my ded, and oop. Today I received a call from local hospital stating that the Insurer wants all their money back. I am totally devastated. They haven’t acted in good faith since day 1. I never had symptoms until 4-2-2012.
